ABOUT THE VIDEO:
(The following words come from Luke Renner, director.)

There are dark places in the world.
I grew up believing that these dark places were somewhere far away, across one of the great oceans, buried within impenetrable jungles or deep along the leeward edges of the earth's mightiest mountains. My upbringing supported that worldview. I grew up a child of the TV. In my 4:3 window to the world, these mysterious places were far out of reach and unquestionably not meant for the likes of me.

Closer than you think.
The most surprising thing about the images in the video for "This Is How The World Will End" is just how close those places are to where I live. Approximately 700 miles south of Miami, on a tiny little island in the Caribbean, I powered up my camera and filmed the shocking images you see in this video. As I write these words from my Florida studio, I am physically closer to the people in this video than I am to my home state of Indiana.

Getting involved.
Owen and I have had numerous conversations about what we do for those of you who are ultimately eager to be a part of solving some of the problems of the poor. The truth is, neither of us take this video lightly.
